A blog about words, and especially The Word, with special emphasis on the book of Deuteronomy, known in Hebrew as Devarim. And other things that I find interesting!

Hi Peter,
Wow! I've just reviewed all of your postings on Devarim since I last checked. I am also fascinated by the teaching methodology, and wish I had been taught that way. I wonder if there is a corresponding approach with Greek.
I can certainly imagine how you and your cohorts would look like shady characters. You just look downright dangerous!
The article on the 3000 year old inscription says it's no longer available.
I will continue to pray for you and the family during these days of separation. As the chorus says, "It will be worth it all...." I admire your strong desire to be the best teacher you can be, to advance the kingdom of God on earth.
I am being blessed by studying more on Benediction for my article on Glen Scorgie's dictionary for Zondervan.
I loved your piece about reading Deuteronomy while looking out over the hills of Judea. These kinds of revelations make the blog really live.
Rich blessings in our kind Savior,
Bob
Thanks, Bob!
They actually do Greek here as well. Randall Buth (the director of this program) has been working to get that going. He notes that there are an amazing number of Greek inscriptions here. The Greek students don't get the advantage of hearing their language around them all the time, but it is still a great way to learn Greek.
Thanks for your prayers! When I can't sleep (because of jet lag), I will pray for your article for Glen's dictionary.
In Christ,
Peter
